Yellow and Lean Belts in Six Sigma Certification

It is often thought that a six sigma certification is only given to the three six sigma belt professionals that do the execution of a certain project using the six sigma methodologies. Though that is the case, there are also other two six sigma certifications for the lower two belts.

The first of the other two six sigma certification is the yellow belt certification. This certification provides an overall approach of the techniques described in the six sigma idea. Training for this kind of certification is given in the form of metrics and the basics of the methodologies.

Professionals under the yellow belt certification learn how to juxtapose lean methodologies and six sigma methodologies to achieve a high level of production. The reason of this process is to attain customer’s wants and needs and meet the aims of the organization starting from the lowest unit.

The second of the other two six sigma certifications is the lean six sigma certification. This certification provides the individuals the integration of the techniques of service and manufacturing in the various aspects in industry.

In this certification, an individual must achieve various requirements while in training. One of these requirements is the focus of the industry in going forward to further completely attain the objectives. Another is the involvement of the individual in the type of business, such as the identification and elimination of unnecessary activities that does not give importance to a certain product or service.

Other requirements include being aware of both the lean and the six sigma methodologies to provide for the improvement of a certain type of business; and that the improvement starts at the lowest level. Also, trainees should keep an eye on the identification of potentials, decisions in terms of improving; meeting the expectations of the customer and business results.
